Company Profile: B P Prosciutti was founded in 2009 through the merger of two historic Modenese companies in the sector of processing and sale of raw hams, Balugani Prosciutti and Panini Prosciutt; thanks to the synergy of process and product made today P B is an excellence in Italian industry production of raw ham in all its cuts.
Balugani Prosciutti has an ancient history dating back since 1979, when families Secchi (known hams traders) and Balugani (i Balugani disossatori brothers were excellent craftsmen and dedicated to pork processing since adolescence) decided to make a company Castelnuovo Rangone (Modena) that disossava about 2,000 pieces a week. The company had a strong family imprint, all components were at a strategic point of business; the work was done manually, and the main products were bows, decorations and ham bone. Sales were mainly addressed to the Central and Southern Italy.

In 1990 began the technological evolution with the introduction of machinery for meat processing (machines for deboning "sgorbiatrici", conveyor belts ...) and, to increase production, which passed in 7000 sets a week, it was bought plant in Felino seasoning (Parma); Balugani was already a leading company and opened its sales also to foreign markets, notably France, Germany and Belgium. Consider that in 1992 was made the first Cibus in Parma and later Anuga (Germany), SIAL (France) and Table (Belgium); 1994 saw the landing of Balugani hams in South America.

To characterize the Balugani was therefore already a strong export orientation and a strong focus on quality; in 1994 the company had all the health authorizations for export to the US and JAPAN, and every stage of production saw a careful quality control ( "tack" of the hams entry and exit, control provenance slaughterhouses, labeling codes and organoleptic characteristics).

In 1996 it was bought the plant in Montale (Modena) because larger to carry out the production that went to 20,000 pieces a week.
Growth is then continued up to the present day with product innovation, technological innovation; It would stress that in 1990 the Balugani was the first company to develop the "Tile for industrial use", a completely skinned ham and molded into a rectangular shape intended for slicing industries.



Panini Prosciutti has a similar story of tradition; founded in 1972 by the Carpi Panini family of Modena, he started business as a small workshop boning of hams in the locality San Marino di Carpi. The family was totally dedicated to the activity, males were brothers respectively in production and trade, the mother and sister were responsible for administration and management.

Soon the small business site became inadequate for the productive and commercial development that was having the ham, and in 1994 the decision was made to transfer the business in the most modern plant in Rovereto sulla Secchia Novi di Modena, with plants and advanced machinery . Ham sandwiches so began to strongly develop sales to mass retailers Italian Organized through an important network of agents; already in the early 90s the company provided hams to major hypermarkets in northern Italy, thanks to the company's flagship product represented by the "steak", a quarter of packaged ham, practical and functional for home consumption.

Turning to average Panini industry began in 1995 also to internationalize and to develop exports to Germany and France to wholesalers and distributors; the attention to quality and the achievement of the most important industrial certifications have allowed continued growth (the production has reached up to 1 million hams a year) and expansion (the turnover reached 20 million Euros in 2006).

To come to this day, in 2007-2008 took place the entry in the realities of Ham Sandwiches and Balugani Hams by Suincom Spa (www.suincom.it), second player in the sector of buying, processing and sale of fresh pork legs; Suincom, interested in expanding its activities in the world of cured hams, decided to take over businesses and to implement a renewal and an organizational restructuring to better compete in the market for cured meats, increasingly competitive.
