A photovoltaic system is a generator of electricity from solar sources . Its main components are:
photovoltaic modules (also called panels), which have the characteristic of generating a continuous voltage when exposed to sunlight;
one or more inverters, capable of converting electrical energy from direct current into alternating current;
electrical panels, which perform the necessary protection, command and control functions of the system.
Solar energy produced by a photovoltaic system can be used directly by your own users or fed into the electricity grid, with appropriate remuneration, to be consumed by other users.

How does a photovoltaic system work?

Non-self-consumed energy is fed into the electricity grid and valorised, for example, through agreements stipulated with the Gestore dei Servizi Energetici Spa (GSE), in one of the following ways:
